Some NYC households get expedited SNAP — a first benefit in about 7 days — if income and cash on hand are very low, or if rent and utilities eat what you have. HRA checks this when you apply. You still must complete the interview quickly, ideally within 7 days. The fastest legal SNAP is not same-day.

After the interview, HRA may issue a one-time expedited amount while they finish the ongoing case.
